New Job = Tired Brain = Some Times Grumpy Wife...

Hello long lost blogger friends! Sorry I haven't posted in freakin forever. I have been so busy with my new job that I haven't even had time to think. The learning curve when I start a new job is huge and there is so much information to take in  I can barely stand it. I am really really liking my new apartment community our residents are wonderful and the people I work with are so great. It really feels like a family, which I know is so cheesy but its nice to be happy and comfortable at work. One of the draw backs to starting my new job is my brain is really tired, which makes me a bit grumpy. Not so much at Zack but pretty much every one else. Sorry to anyone around me. That being said I have a rant! I love animals, I love people who adopt shelter animals even more. How ever I dont love people who adopt 2 huge dogs in one day as a surrogate for the children there husband wont let them have especially when said person works full time and is lazy! Who am I talking about do you ask? My neighbors, they adopted an adorable puppy and a HUGE Doberman(they returned to doberman after a week). Which has been nothing but a terror since they got it, here is a list of the things it has done... so far: dug 2 holes under my fence big enough for it to fit threw, came into our yard and pulled rotting food out of my compost bin, then rolled in the rotting food and played with my dog, ate all my dogs food, pulled out the drawer in the shed with the dog and cat food in them ate most of both of those, chewed up some of our fishing stuff, and scratched the heck out of my door, but other then that we love the dog! Now I understand that its a puppy, how ever, they dont discipline the dog and nothing is changing, just a little frustrating. Now on to happier news. Zack and I are almost 100 percent sure we are coming home for Christmas! Watch out Utah here we come. So anyone who would like to see us let me know cuz we will only  be there a week and i don't know if you know this but we are kind of a big deal so we will be pretty busy! Love you all!

Happy days for me..

Happy days for me!  My and Zacks life has been so wonderful as of late. I got a job finally doing some thing i like and happen to be good at. I officially start August 1st at The Oaks at Broad River apartment community as a leasing consultant. We are enjoying our new kitty who we decided to name Cleopatra,  Cleo for short, she has so much personality and is so funny. Zack has only slightly given up on kayak fishing, he is getting discouraged, but i told him i am glad that he dosent go out and catch 4 fish every time he goes cuz i dont think i could keep up with cooking that much fish. i finally tried my hand at reupholstering / refurbishing, and in case your wondering, its a lot of freakin work! i redid an old chair of zacks. its pictured below.

Quite an improvement if i do say so. Best part is, it only cost me about $10. Gotta love being cheap. One of things i think i will miss terribly when i go back to work is reading, i know cue laughing now, i used to hate reading, but in just the last month i have read 3 books. ya i am weird. i have read 3 out of the 4 Harper Connelly novels. Plus i finished a wonderful book called The Art of Racing in the Rain, if your looking for a good book i recommend this one over any book i have read in the last 4 years!

There is also new earrings, bracelets and necklaces up on my website - cpjewelery.com- as always i very much appreciate your comments and feed back on my stuff, if you hate something please tell me! .

Thanks again for all of your support!

And a special congratulations to one of my good friends Kristy! She and her husband just welcomed a healthy and beautiful baby girl into the world!

Still Alive...

Sorry sorry sorry. Never fear i did not die, i have just been busy wife and friend! So run down on what happened in the latest bit of forever. I was blessed enough to be able to go home to Utah for my sisters graduation and also for my sister in laws graduation and birthday! Both of those were really exciting and so fun. i am so proud of my sister she gets more and more amazing every day. She leaves for Southern Utah University at the end of summer, it makes me feel so old that my baby sis is going to college!  Zack and i are still loving South Carolina, i am mostly adjusted to the insane weather and crushing humidity. Zack goes kayak fishing every Saturday and Sunday, he caught 3 sharks all about 3-4 feet long! i though that it was amazing he then informed me that those are just the "babies" and i told him he is crazy and if he gets his hand bit off i am gonna kill him! i am still making jewelry like a mad woman, sadly enough my stuff isn't selling well. So that means i get to start looking for a job... yay... i am trying to get a job as a leasing consultant again, ill keep you all updated on that. We have a new addition to our family, no i am not pregnant, though i wish i was. We adopted a beautiful black kitty- she is as of yet unnamed, we are open to suggestions! That is pretty much all i have for now. Thank you to all of my followers who have purchased items of my website and thank to everyone else who supports my bizarre creativity in other ways! love you all! till next time!!!

Lovin The Good Life...

We love South Carolina! The are so many amazing things to do here; fish, kayak, go to the beach, enjoy the local way of life. Its pretty wonderful. That being said... I have a rant or five. The state bird of SC should be the mosquito! I kid you not they are everywhere! But they aren't what is bad, the worst things here are these little flying demons called nats I am sure they have some cool scientific name but i don't know it nor do i care what it is. All you need to know is they are Satan's minons sent here to drive us crazy till we do evils things, like punch children and kill small animals. Other interesting SC wildlife fact is... I have discovered  raccoons like dog food.... anyone wondering how i know this? The answer my adorable friends is that raccoons ripped apart the screen door on my patio and opened the drawer containing 30 pounds of said dog food and ate it... ALL! To my beloved friends and family in Utah, I am aware we have raccoons there but they are not the size of a small horse or a large dog. and they do not rip apart your patio for dog food.OK that is that. Now on to happier/funnier news. We have a Mocking Bird nesting in a tree outside our house and i love listening to it through out the day is sings so pretty. If you notice a pattern here its because SC is so full of crazy awesome creatures! Zack always jokes that the outside of our house sounds like the indoor bird rooms that all zoos seem to have, where you have 8 millions birds making noise plus the wildlife sound track they play in the back ground. Its pretty amazing. Minus the nats and mosquitoes we are for sure livin' and lovin' the good life!

For those of you interested in what Zack is up to. He is has taken up kayak fishing. I swear the love of my life cant just have a cheap hobby! lol. Thats alright though he really likes it and keeps him happy and busy on the weekends. Kayak $250. Seat $140. Racks for the car $200. Having happy husband... Priceless! He still likes his job most of the time but gets sick of the politics of the Marine Corps, all of you Marine wifes know exactly what I'm talking bout! I told him almost any job had politics, I don't know if that encouraged or discouraged him. Zack is finally able to ride his motorcycle! Its a very happy day for both of us, we missed ridding the bike everywhere!

I am so delighted I get to go home to Utah in just 9 days for my baby sisters graduation! I cant believe that she is graduating. While I am home I get to go to Zack's sister graduation also and I get to see the best in-laws in the world. I am so lucky that i was blessed with in-laws that are sane in all the right ways and crazy in the all the other best ways. I have put several new things on cpjewelery.com if your interested! I have to admit I am getting slightly discouraged with my website, its not doing well. People tell me all the time how pretty my stuff is and how they love it and want to buy it and yet I just cant seem to sell it. I have even lowered lots of my prices. Little bit frustrating that is for sure.

Thats about all for right now. I'd love any feed back you guys have for me about my website, good or bad.

New Start... Again...

To my many adoring followers(all 9 of you), never fear I have not died or fallen off the face of the earth, I have simply moved 1000 miles and had no internet. Needless to say I have been quite busy and have had several adventures. So just a heads up this is probably going to be a very very long post.  How shall i begin? I vote chronologically.

We have left biloxi MS. Thank heaven, I hated that place. I am however very sad to be going our separate ways with a lot of great Marines hopefully we can meet up again at some point.  The drive from Mississippi to South Carolina isn't terrible its quite pretty actually.Tthere are a few places we drove through that I am pretty sure is the winter home for big foot, said big foot could have been in the trees doing yoga and I never would have seen him or her cuz the growth is so thick.

We arrived! To a super cute 1950s era house in beautiful Beaufort, South Carolina. Its 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. One of my favorite things about it is that we have a huge fenced yard so Zy can run around like a crazy dog. We also have a cute screened porch and several old growth trees in our yard. I  love to watch Zy try his hardest to catch the squirrels. On a side note, I have decided that there is definitely enough squirrels here that if they ever mobilized and decided to attack, we would be Screwed! There are like a million of them. Being the hippy that I am, I am quite pleased to announce that I have already built a compost bin, I will very soon be putting in my veggie garden and I've painted almost every room. I have a terrible phobia of white walls. Also I think I finally have all my crap that has been spread out all over the great state of Utah for the last year and a half, things included in that are my holiday decor, and my pottery wheel and kiln. Don't forget I did warn you that I am a hippy about 2 sentences ago.

Zack has started his job with his unit here. He likes everyone thus far, he is kinda low man on the totem pole right now but thats pretty much standard at any new place. The hours here are a bit longer but what can ya do. He is on cloud nine right now due to us finally getting his motorcycle and his weight set here. Typical Marine work out and go fast what else could he need.
see the focus in his face, he is watching the birds

We went to the beach for the first time, its lovely it reminds me of the Oregon coast but slightly warmer. Its currently jellyfish breading season and because of that there are huge dead jellies every where, they are roughly the size of a soccer ball. A really great thing about the beaches here is they allow dogs so we are able to take Zy, he adores the beach. We also went fishing!! We love fishing, actually we hate fishing what we love is catching. Unfortunately we haven't caught anything yet. But we are just learning the area so thats to be expected.
i found this crab eating a dead jelly, sav calls this my critter face.

Pretty much we love this place thus far.

Captive Audience…

Saturday, March 19th we went to the air show at Keesler Air Force Base. I have to admit I love air shows I think they fun and so cool. I find huge crowds of different types of people very interesting.  One thing I hate about pretty much all things like air shows and conventions and events like that, is what I call the captive audience syndrome, wondering what that is? It is when events don’t allow you to bring food or drinks or air in with you and then charge you an arm a leg and your first born child! I don’t get it, a cup of water 4 dollars, really, I am pretty sure I just watched you fill the kid size cup from a garden hose! You want to some nachos o well first you have to apply for a loan then if you are approved we can begin to haggle over the price of your stale chips with cheese flavored goo on them. Stupid stupid stupid! Well that’s enough of that, thanks for listening… er reading.

On a happy non-complain filled note, we went to the beach on Sunday, March 20th and it was lovely!! Football, volleyball, the Blue Angels flying over doing tricks, great friends, trail mix, cute puppy, warm sun, cool water, and a beautifully handsome husband to look at, find something wrong with the day I dare you!

Also Zack got his official in hand paper orders today, we leave on the 7th of April and have 7 days to report in at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, South Carolina! So excited to finally be settled and start our lives. We have been in this sort of bizarre holding pattern for about a year now, and its old!! So very very soon he will be a Stinger!

Happy St. Patrick's Day... I Guess...

I didn't even realize it was St. Patrick's day until I got on Facebook an everyone was talking about being pinched and not being pinched, at first I was confused, I don't feel like it should be far enough into the year to be St Patties yet. This year is going by so crazy fast I cant even keep up. As I sit here in my warm bed refusing to get out till the house warms up a bit, I was thinking about St. Patties days past and what they consisted of. Most people here St. Patrick's and think about 3 things the color green, leprechauns, an drinking.. very very heavily. Though I do have an appreciation for a good glass of Guinness. But my personal experiences are very different and I grew very home sick thinking about it. St. Patrick's day in my house consisted of my moms amazing corned beef and cabbage, which is a traditional Irish meal, and lots of family and wonderful friends, and try as I might I just cannot seem to cook that meal as good as my mom. So tonight instead of trying to make corned beef and cabbage and failing and missing my mom more then I already do, I think Zack and I will have pizza, that traditional Irish right? Its so funny looking back when I was younger and in in Jr. High and High School, i was so excited to move out and get away not have parents to tell me what to do and blah blah blah. Now i would consider killing just to get a plane ticket home because i miss my family so bad. Don't get me wrong I love traveling and living new places but just like Dorthy said there is no place like home. All right there is your cheesy blog post for the day, now we have that taken care of we can move on.

Just a quick update on things. Zack and I will be moving to Beaufort, South Carolina on the 7th-8th of April. My jewelry website should be up and fully running with in the next week, you can get on and look at it now but you cant buy anything yet the web address is www.cpjewelery.com so please feel free to get on there and look and tell me what you think, constructive criticism is always appreciated!

Never a Dull Moment. . .

This morning I was woken up by the loudest thunder i had ever heard. I am deathly afraid of thunder, go a head make fun of me but I am an have been for as long as I can remember.

First, a little back story before I explain my very interesting morning/day. Once upon a time I was a little girl in beautiful American Fork, UT and there was a really really bad storm and I had very recently seen the movie Twister and was quite worried about tornadoes. So me being the worried and inquisitive child that I was I asked my mom " is there going to be a tornado?" and my mom knowing that we lived in Utah and that tornadoes pretty much never happen in Utah said to me "no Catherine you don't have to worry about tornadoes unless the sky turns a very strange and obvious green color" to which I replied pointing at the sky "like that mommy?" my mom then turned and looked at the sky and very calmly said "yes Catherine exactly like that" then we very quickly drove home and hid in the basement for a while.

Now for the current story, as I am laying in bed this morning woken up very suddenly by very loud thunder, I open my curtain and looked at the sky to find the sky that wonderful and very scary green color. At this point I panic mildly and grab my computer an pull up the weather and much to my surprise there not only a flood warning there is a tornado warning! The breaking story as I log on the internet is that a tornado had touched down about 7 miles east of my house. so at this point i grab my 72 hour kit an my puppy and kitty and hide in the bathroom. About this point Zack calls me tells me whats going on with him and I report whats going on with me. He was locked down and didn't really know what was going on out side except that it was bad weather so I was giving him updates. All in all we are OK but it was actually really scary. Like we always say there is never a dull moment.

Came to a Conclusion...

I am an idiot! Why you ask your self? The answer to your question is that I am only now reading the blogs of all of my beloved friends and I feel like a horrible person. So many exciting and wonderful things have happened in everyones lives and I have been selfishly oblivious to them, to those of you who have been all but ignored I am very very sorry, I promise I will try to do better. Well thats enough apologizing. As some of you read my blog you may notice that occasionally I may forget the letter D in places, that is surprisingly enough not due to my complete lack of spelling ability but due to the fact that my adorable little puppy felt that my smoothie sitting on my bedside table was also his smoothie an so he attempted to share with me, and in doing so spilled it all over my laptop, killing my letter D, unless I violently stab at it. Luckily for him he happens to be incredibly cute and lovable other wise he may very well have ended up out side without a collar. Just kidding... mostly.

One of My Favorite Quotes

We are all a little weird and life's a little weird
When we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours
We join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it Love

Finally Got a Blog...

I finally gave in and decided  to do a blog. So i guess here is a little about me and my life. I am 23 years old and very happily married to Zack who is a Marine, which affords us all kinds of adventures. We are currently in Biloxi, MS soon though we will be on our way to Beaufort, South Carolina, thank goodness! We have a moved 3 times this year from Utah to Pensacola, FL Florida to Mississippi and then Mississippi to South Carolina, needless to say I am getting quite good at packing a moving truck. We have two adorable pets Zy who I rescued from a shelter and he is a 50 pound ball of insanity, then we have Ming who is what Zack calls the cuddle beast, she is 5 year old tortoise shell colored kitty. We are a very happy little family. I currently have no job in the sense that I earn an income, I feel how ever that I do indeed have a job -look pretty- clean house- stay hot and skinny- put yummy meals on our table- its a hard job but one of us has to do it! Zack is a full time active duty Marine he is a Calibration Tech, and amazingly smart. In my spare time I make jewelry I will post pics soon all of it is available for purchase off my website which is nearly complete. Thats about all I have for right now more will be on the way.
